A playful studio-style workshop for curious makers to explore ideas, experiment freely, and fill their sketchbook with bold, beautiful beginnings.

What it’s all about?

Sketchbook Social is a relaxed, inspiring workshop where creativity can breathe. It’s a space to try new materials, play with different processes, and discover fresh ways of making that feel expressive, enjoyable, and entirely your own.

Across each four-week block, your sketchbook becomes a creative companion — a place to gather ideas, test out techniques, and watch your visual language grow. As your confidence builds, you’ll be encouraged to follow your own interests, explore themes more deeply, and develop work with a stronger personal voice.

Basic materials will be provided to get you started, though a few sessions may invite you to bring or pick up a small selection of extra items. We’ll also explore the creative potential of found objects and affordable materials that are easy to source locally.

Workshop content

The first four weeks explore the expressive possibilities of line — using simple tools and playful techniques to capture what you see. You’ll experiment with how line can describe form, suggest tone, create rhythm, and reveal the shape of both positive and negative space.

Cost

Four-week workshop: £48 per person. To help keep the course flowing smoothly, the four-week block should be paid for in full.

Spaces are kept limited, so each session feels welcoming, focused, and full of creative energy — booking early is the best way to reserve your spot.

What you will need

Week 1: - Just bring yourself, your enthusiasm, and a reusable cup with a tea bag or coffee — so you can settle in with a lovely cuppa while we make.

Week 2: - Bring along the sketchbook you made in week 1, plus an HB pencil and a biro. Your biro can be any colour you like.

Week 3: - Please bring your sketchbook, an HB pencil, a 2B pencil, and a 6B pencil.

Week 4: - Bring your sketchbook, HB, 2B, and 6B pencils, a biro, and a crayon in any colour
