Rosie Brown

Fine Artist

Rosie is a multi-media artist, creating art primarily using oil paint and plaster-based sculpture, who graduated from UWE in 2024 with a (BA) honours in fine art.

Rosie’s work visually combines traditionally gothic elements with modern contemporary kitsch, creating pieces fused with atmosphere and emotion, using her beloved Sphynx Cat as the universal sitter throughout her work. When asked about her work Rosie often describes her work as “a conceptional exploration of religion, the cultural phenomenon that is vampirism alongside the neurodiverse female experience and all their allegories”. Her work draws on literary and philosophical narratives surrounding vampirism and its translation into Catholic and feminist metaphors.

Rosie’s work was showcased in the Spike Island Open Studios’ event in the years 2023 and 2024 as well as various exhibitions in Bristol city, both public and university.
